How we tackle the future

Currently we’re experiencing the consequences of what happens when solutions are put into the world without first thinking about the implications for society.
As a design community we are all deeply involved in this process. Which means that we have the big responsibility to design a better world for our future generations.With new disruptive technologies quickly entering our daily lives we can choose to continue being bystanders or to take the lead this time.
When we decide to lead it’s not going to be the tools or methods that help us design solutions that stand the test of time. It’s our proven set of values and approach.
In this talk you’ll see practical examples of how these values and approach play out in the world of service design. Designing solutions for a better world isn’t rocket science, it’s actually quite simple. You just have to be human.

Socio fondatore di 31Volts, ideatore, docente e host di Service Design Show .
Marc era destinato ad una comune carriera informatica ma il caso – e il suo percorso – lo hanno portato a fondare la prima Service Design Agency nei Paesi Bassi.
Dal 2007 collabora con grandi organizzazioni per (ri)mettere i clienti al centro delle loro attività. Non solo perché è un bene per il business, ma anche perché è la cosa giusta da fare.
Dal 2016 è a capo di “Service Design Show”, una piattaforma che aiuta la formazione dei service designer, per aumentare la loro influenza sulla strategia e sul processo decisionale. Al suo interno si possono trovare interviste, consigli pratici e corsi di approfondimento.
Il suo più grande obiettivo? Dare l’opportunità alle persone di sentirsi orgogliose del proprio lavoro e c’è un solo modo per farlo: unire il coraggio alla curiosità.
